“It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

Commentary
Theme: renewed mercy
As this Sunday opens a new week, Lamentations reminds the church that God's mercy is not exhausted by delay, disappointment, or human failure. The morning light over Jerusalem becomes a fitting image for renewed compassion: great is His faithfulness, even when the week begins with repair and return.
