Commentary

Theme: pentecost and the holy spirit

On this Pentecost Sunday, the Church remembers the Spirit descending not as an idea, but as living fire and breath. Acts 2:4 gives this late Sunday its proper center: God still gathers the weary, fills ordinary people with holy courage, and sends them out with words they did not have before.
